Market Risk Senior Contract Role

This role is for a candidate looking to progress from their current risk analyst role and broaden their horizons, whilst securing a solid daily rate.

This front office based risk function has the responsibility to analyse significant risk concentrations, providing pre-trade analysis covering vanilla, exotic and structured products.
They set and monitor limits on the trading floor and provide consultative advice to the desks regarding hedging strategies, pricing models and risks associated with the markets and the trading strategies of the desks. You will spend a significant amount of time working with the trading, structuring and quantitative teams on the resolution of risk related issues. Finally you will provide input to ongoing projects related to infrastructure, systems and methodologies.

A successful candidate will have strong educational background, evidenced ideally by a post-graduate degree in quantitative subjects, plus practical exposure to equity markets either through work in trading, market risk and/or valuations.
A solid equity product knowledge, perhaps some exposure to CD, FX, Emerging Markets, and a demonstrable knowledge of the financial markets are strongly desired, whilst experience of managing staff, self-confidence and interpersonal skills are required to deliver on the trading floor.
