Junior Demand Forecaster - Global Energy Major – Midlands - Up to £35k

International Blue Chip Energy major seeks a Junior Demand Forecasting Analyst to join their expanding forecasting team. Our client is one of the UK’s leading power and gas companies – generating and distributing electricity, and retailing power and gas. They employ around 17,000 people in the UK and over 93,000 worldwide.

Main Responsibilities:

- Delivery of accurate and timely short term and long term operational demand forecasts of gas to Trading Arms and Portfolio Management, together with an understanding of the forecasts and advice on uncertainty and risk.
- Provide ad hoc analytical modelling to improve processes and opportunities across the wider Retail business including undertaking activities and projects within and outside of the immediate team to leverage further value from the role holder’s skills and expertise. The successful individual will have:

- A numerate degree
- Knowledge of UK Gas & Power markets
- Experience in commercial/analytical data manipulation
- An understanding of the drivers of gas or power demand of large customers (customer profiles, weather etc) and therefore develop and update accurate forecasting models.
- Strong Technical skills – SQL, VBA, programming languages
